The Bradley Method®

The Bradley Method®, also know as husband coached childbirth, is a natural childbirth method.  It emphasizes the husbands role as coach, and teaches dads how to support their wife through pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond.  The Bradley Method is the most successful natural birth training with over 80% of couples completing the class having a natural birth. 

 

Bradley Class Series are 12 weeks long, and cover topics such as: Nutrition, Exercises, RELAXATION, Stages of Labor, Effective Coaching, Informed Consent, Breastfeeding, and Baby care.  I will also include guest speakers here and there throughout the class.  These classes prepare couples to feel empowered by the natural process of birth!

Introduction to the Bradley Method®

 Week 1– Exercise/ Introduction to the Bradley Method®

 Week 2– Nutrition in Pregnancy– Staying healthy & low risk. 

 Week 3– Pregnancy– Anatomy of the pregnant body and common discomforts.

 Week 4– The Coach’s Role— Question answer session with John

 Week 5– Introduction to First Stage Labor– How your body works, and how to coach through this stage.

 Week 6– Introduction to Second stage Labor– How your body works.

 Week 7- Planning your Birth– Evaluating your feelings about your birth, creating a birth plan .

 Week 8– Variations and Unexpected situations/ Postpartum preparation

 Week 9– Advanced First Stage Labor– Advanced coaching techniques to deal with the challenges of first stage labor. 

 Week 10– Advanced Second Stage Labor- Advanced labor rehearsal– Continued Preparation for first stage. 

 Week 11– Being a Great Coach– Review & preparation for emergency childbirth

 Week 12– Preparing For your New Family– Newborn Care/ Breastfeeding
